BIO: PAM KESLER, MFT; MS
Dr. Pam Kesler has an M.S. degree in counseling and mental health, and is a licensed MFT. She is also an RN – with a B.S.N degree in nursing from California State University San Jose, and has over 37 years of experience in the field of mental health. She received her M.S. degree at California State University Hayward, where she also received a certificate in biofeedback and is currently working on a chemical dependency certificate. Pam is also a certified EMDR therapist. Her expertise includes the following specialties: chemical dependency, post-traumatic stress disorder (war and violence), family violence, sexual trauma, biofeedback, stress management, grief counseling, physical disabilities and habit control. She also has specialized training which includes difficult teens and children populations (adoptions, trauma, foster children and court ordered youth).
Pam has spent 34 years working as a Christian counselor and assisted in establishing a lay counseling center for a 2,000 member church. She is married and has two sons and two granddaughters. She also worked with Christian residential shelters: (Koinonia) and (Shepherds Gate), dealing with battered, homeless women and children and foster care youth. Her primary focus is EMDR which will speed up the therapeutic healing process.
She recently has started a nonprofit organization called A Gathering Place of Healing, which specializes in bilingual parenting/bi-cultural (Spanish speaking) education and anger management. Court ordered/approved classes in English and Spanish are also offered.
